The donut made of Midnight Lace Obsidian (40 mm) fascinates with its striking, lamellar structure. Midnight Lace Obsidian - also known as striped obsidian - is formed volcanically by the rapid cooling of silica-rich lava flows. While the lava is still in motion, fine ore particles are deposited in layers in the resulting natural glass. These deposits form the typical fine stripes and lamellae that give the Obsidian its unique appearance.
Each Obsidian donut made from Midnight Lace Obsidian shows an individual pattern of transparent to dark areas with delicate metallic layers and is therefore a natural one-off.
