Bracelet "Triangles", various types of shells, 18 to 20.5 cm

Three beautiful mother-of-pearl varieties from the South Seas were used for this piece of jewelry: the colorful iridescent Paua Shell (Haliotis Iris), the white mother-of-pearl of the pearl oyster (Pinctada Maxima) and the brown-patterned mother-of-pearl of the porcelain snake (Cyprus Tigris Linnaeus).

The colorful shells were already known to the Maori, the indigenous people of New Zealand, and were coveted as a delicacy and magnificent decorative material. Today, the mussels are cultivated on farms. No endangered species are used for the jewelry.
