The fossil shark teeth from Morocco come mainly from the world-famous phosphate deposits of the Ouled-Abdoun Basin near Khouribga. This site is one of the most important fossil deposits in the world and is known for its exceptional preservation and biodiversity.
The fossil teeth are around 50 - 70 million years old and date from the Paleocene to Eocene. Specimens of the prehistoric giant mackerel shark (Otodus obliquus), whose teeth can reach lengths of up to 10 cm, and Palaeocarcharodon orientalis are particularly common.
These fossils are ideal for sale in mineral stores, souvenir and gift stores, museum stores and natural history exhibitions.
