These fossils, which are around 150 million years old, come from Madagascar.
Size of the fossils approx. 7 - 10 cm.
Perisphinctes are a genus of ammonites that lived in the middle to late Jurassic period. Ammonites were marine cephalopods, primitive squid. Usually only the shells of the ammonites are preserved as fossils. These have the shape of a flat, coiled spiral.
